Multiage classrooms are one of the special features of the YCS elementary program. In the Lower Elementary class, focus is placed on the building blocks of language arts and mathematics to develop strong interdisciplinary skills that students carry with them. 

Our Lower Elementary class combines Kindergarten and 1st Grade in a warm, Christ-centered environment where children feel safe, comfortable, and excited to learn. We strive to create a classroom where every child feels valued, encouraged, and empowered to grow in their own unique way. By placing Jesus at the center of our lessons and daily activities, students learn not only academic skills but also kindness, gratitude, and love for others.

Learning in our classroom is active, joyful, and hands-on. Students explore through creative projects, collaborative activities, and meaningful experiences that allow them to work with their hands and hearts. We celebrate each child’s individuality while guiding them to use their gifts to serve God and others. Our goal is to nurture confident learners who develop strong foundations in both faith and academics.
