The strong foundations that students develop in Lower Elementary carry over into the Upper Elementary years at YCS. Students can apply their strong language and mathematics skills to science, social studies and Bible classes and truly begin to develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
In Upper Elementary, students take ownership of their learning by practicing responsibility and not relying so much on their parents. With this responsibility, students are trusted with more opportunities to explore and grow in their academics. Our multi-grade classroom strengthens both their teamwork skills and their independent working skills.
Bible class discussions go beyond just story content and apply to their personal lives, often leading to deep questions and big realizations. Not only in Bible class but also the whole day is centered around creating in these students a Biblical worldview–a lens that they see everything through. This environment of grace and truth allows students to feel comfortable to learn and to live their YCS life to the fullest.
