Summer Reading List
Parenting Help
We can always use a little help from our friends. Why try it alone… Some recommended books to read over the summer.
My First, Second & Third Attempts at Parenting
Although it’s not a “how to” book, it definitely points to what’s most important in parenting…the heart vs. behavior. Pastor Steve Murrell and family has been an example to me that you don’t have to sacrifice family for your ministry or job. He is always more concerned with family over church attendance.
“As parents, our job is not to make sure our children never experience the storms of life. Our job is to establish deep biblical foundations so our kids will stand strong when the inevitable storms of life hit the hardest.”
An easy, entertaining yet convicting read.
Boundaries with Kids: When to Say Yes, When to Say No, to Help Your Children Gain Control of Their Lives
The title alone should make you want to read the book. Having read the original book, Boundaries, I was happy that they came out with a book on children. (It is also in Japanese!)
!!!! But the most recommended book around, still is and will always be:
Believe it or not, contains, the answers to everything, including parenting… How you and your children can have real peace, love, joy and purpose. No matter how many times you read it, there is still something new to learn.
Happy Reading!
